Founder, Director and Head of Provision
Camilla China is the Founder, Director and Head of Provision at Wild Minds. She leads the strategic development, safeguarding, and delivery of specialist alternative provision for young people with complex SEND, SEMH, and mental health needs.
With over 20 years’ experience working with children, young people, and families, Camilla has built Wild Minds around a clear vision: to provide safe, structured, and relational education for learners who have struggled to thrive in mainstream or larger alternative settings.

Professional Background
Camilla’s background spans specialist education, mentoring, therapeutic support, and leadership within alternative provision. She has worked across a range of settings including SEND schools, alternative provision, and community-based services, supporting young people with autism, ADHD, trauma-related difficulties, and complex emotional needs.
Her work is informed by both professional training and lived experience of neurodivergence, giving her a grounded understanding of the challenges many learners face in education. This insight shapes the relational, low-demand, and trauma-informed approach embedded across Wild Minds.

Values and Ethos
Camilla is committed to ensuring that young people are treated with dignity, respect, and understanding. She believes that education should adapt to the learner, not the other way around, and that progress is built through strong relationships, clear boundaries, and meaningful learning experiences.
Under her leadership, Wild Minds prioritises emotional safety, regulation, and practical skill development as foundations for long-term outcomes.
