About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Our Story

Wild Minds is a specialist alternative education provider supporting young people with complex SEND, SEMH, and mental health needs who are unable to access or sustain mainstream education.

We work with schools and local authorities to deliver high-needs, low-ratio provision for learners who have often experienced school refusal, repeated placement breakdowns, or difficulty engaging in traditional education settings.

Our work is grounded in the belief that young people learn best when they feel safe, understood, and regulated, and when learning is meaningful, relational, and connected to the real world.

Our Approach

Wild Minds provides a calm, structured, and therapeutic learning environment, delivered through a combination of:

  • low-ratio group work and 1:1 support

  • practical, hands-on learning

  • functional skills embedded across the day

  • personal development and mentoring

  • consistent, relationship-based staffing

Learning takes place within a nature-based setting, which supports regulation, confidence, responsibility, and engagement, particularly for neurodivergent learners and those with heightened anxiety or sensory needs.

Our provision is intentionally designed to be small, specialist, and relational, allowing us to respond flexibly to individual needs while maintaining high safeguarding and support standards.

Who We Support

We support young people aged 11–19 with a wide range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, trauma-related difficulties, and other SEND profiles.

Many of the young people we work with have struggled in larger or more traditional settings and require a specialist, therapeutic approach to re-engage with education and prepare for future pathways.

Our Team

Young people are supported by a multidisciplinary team including qualified teachers, functional skills practitioners, vocational and practical skills coaches, therapeutic and behaviour-informed staff, and experienced mentors.

Our team works collaboratively to provide joined-up support across academic learning, emotional regulation, and preparation for adulthood. This integrated approach helps ensure consistency, trust, and meaningful progress over time.
