Wild Mind Well-Being provides a safe and therapeutic environment for clients to work on their well-being. Our educational approach and focus on outdoor, farm based activities allows clients to connect with nature and develop the skills needed to thrive in everyday life.

Our services are personalised to fit each client's needs and we recognise their skills through ASDAN accreditation. With our experienced team, you can feel confident in reaching your well-being goals & making positive progress.

ASDAN is an education charity and awarding organisation providing courses, accredited curriculum programmes and regulated qualifications to engage, elevate and empower young people aged 11 to 25 years in greatest need.

Animal Care

Join us on the farm and study Animal Care. This Animal Care Short Course can accredit between 10 and 60 hours of learners' activities and involvement in caring for all types of animals. This could range from looking after our domestic pets, farm animals, horses & more exotic species including wolfdogs, a skunk and even emus!

The course includes the following modules: Animal investigation, Safety around animals, Looking after animals, Animals in trouble, Animals in the media, Animals and the law, Careers in working with animals.

Short Courses are widely used in formal and non-formal settings by 13-19 year olds but can be studied by older clients. Because they are multi-level, the focus is on completing challenges and skills development according to individual ability, although learners are expected to be working at Entry level 3 to Level 1.

Land Based Skills

Vocational Tasters offer learners a concrete introduction to a range of employment sectors. Ideal for learners following an alternative progression route, these courses help learners to make progress towards their personal learning and career aims.

Increasing learners’ knowledge of different employment sectors will help them to make informed and long-lasting decisions about their destinations.

The Land-based Sector Vocational Taster contains modules in: agriculture; animal care; horticulture; environment and land management; health and safety in the land-based sector; careers in the land-based sector.

This course can be completed using the student book or is available for learners to complete online through the ASDAN e-portfolio system. Learners log in to complete challenges, record skills development and upload evidence. Tutors will complete tasks on the farm through our group sessions and support learners with their portfolios.

Living Independently.

Once we have enough registrations of interest we are ready to offer the Living Independently Short Course.

This course includes: Earning and spending money, Keeping track of your money, Making financial choices, A place of your own, Health and wellbeing, Cooking on a budget, Practical cooking skills, Career management, Preparing for the world of work.

Employability Skills Development.

The Employability Skills Development book contains activities designed to develop learners' skills in 12 areas: self-management; team working; business and enterprise; customer awareness; problem solving; communication; working with numbers; IT in the workplace; applying for a job; exploring job opportunities; rights and responsibilities at work; and health and safety in the workplace.

The activities:

  • are flexible and can meet the needs of different learners

  • support personalised learning

  • can be used in a range of contexts and for different programmes of learning

  • encourage a ‘pick and mix’ approach, allowing learning opportunities to be chosen for varying time frames

  • are generic and can be adapted to suit any vocational interest

After completing an initial self-assessment, learners choose appropriate activities to develop their employability skills. At the end of the course learners complete a self-assessment review to reflect on their progress and development.
